Dr. Liz's Bio

Options Naturopathic Clinic is pleased to reintroduce Dr. Liz Cavin to the practice. Dr. Liz is returning to
Options beginning in August 2010, having spent the last two years living in her home state of New Mexico and caring
for her elderly father.

Working in concert with Dr. Holston Singh, Dr. Liz will be furthering her expertise and use of Biotherapeutic Drainage.
In keeping with the philosophy of Options Naturopathic Clinic Dr. Liz believes in the body’s innate and extraordinary ability to return itself to a state of health once a person adopts a healthy lifestyle, supported by quality nutrients that encourage proper cell and body function. She is passionate about integrating both Biotherapeutic drainage and Functional Medicine techniques to improve health on a physical, mental and emotional level.

Liz uses Functional Medicine techniques to help return one’s body to a state of health. Functional medicine looks closely at the physiology of the body, recognizing that the body’s organ systems are closely intertwined and that an imbalance in one organ system affects the functioning of another organ or several organs. Functional medicine uses supplements, botanical medicine and diet to help heal organs on a cellular level, returning organ systems to a healthy state and enabling the body to reach overall health.

Dr. Liz graduated from the National School of Natural Medicine in Portland Oregon in 2006. She enjoys working with children and teens, and tailors her approach to respond to their unique needs. She also works with adults to address both chronic and acute conditions, using a variety of approaches drawn from her knowledge and use of nutritional supplements, botanical remedies, homeopathy, massage, targeted lifestyle changes and Ayurveda.

To keep herself in shape, Dr. Liz lifts weights several times a week and regularly attends Spin classes. She loves bicycling, having one ridden her bike from Seattle to Colorado. Liz traces her love and appreciation of fresh food
to time she spent in her youth working on organic farms in Northern California.
