White Willow is the original species from which aspirin was derived thus it is has the same actions we typically think of for aspirin: it will help reduce pain, it will help to lower a fever and it is anti-inflammatory. SInce it is not an isolated extract of salicylic acid, however, it will not have the toxic effects of aspirin, but should not be used in children, pregnant women or in those persons with kidney disease or bleeding disorders. White willow should not be mixed with anticoagulant, anti-seizure, or diuretic medication.
